In the morning, the effects of the Marine air strike became evident. The enemy soldiers had been crawling up the hill we were on. The Marine aircraft laid their bombs in tight to our position. It was not easy. The pilot's vision had been obscured by darkness and heavy monsoon rains.

Later in the day we took more enemy fire. The Marine jets came back to help us again. There were bomb craters everywhere.

But sometimes it was quiet. In between it all, because we were young, there were light moments.

We would like to thank the many thousands of you who have visited our site since we put it up one year ago. We were surprised, and at times a bit overwhelmed, by the fact that the majority of visitors send e-mails following their visits. It seems that, even after all these years, Vietnam still touches an emotional chord.

On the previous pages we asked you if you would like to see us reprint some of the 25 books that made up The Vietnam Experience book series we published many years ago. Many of you have written and asked if you can purchase certain volumes to complete your set.

We also asked if anyone would have an interest in a new book on Vietnam, perhaps titled Vietnam Remembered. It would be an album of sorts; a collection of memories, photos and letters etc. contributed by many of you.

Most of you have indicated that you would prefer we reprint the original The Vietnam Experience book series so you can complete your sets (which, we are pleased to say, have become collector's items). You also told us that you would like us to add two or three volumes on Vietnam since we left. A volume covering Vietnam from 1973 to present, another volume on Vietnam Today and a third titled Reflections.
