Every day we receive calls, letters and e-mails from veterans, their relatives and others. Most are seeking information on Vietnam and want to know if we have published any additional books or if we'll be adding any new volumes to the series.

Much time has passed since we published The Vietnam Experience book series. Veterans are becoming reflective, and family members and friends wonder what Vietnam was like. Most of the people who write to us and visit this site are in search of personal experiences that illustrate the experience of the war on a day-to-day basis.

The veterans who call offer many reasons for wanting copies of the books or videos. Many say their children are studying Vietnam in school. Some would simply like to briefly revisit their youth. But most, I think, have long-repressed feelings about the war. Although time has healed some wounds, it seems that many people would like to unearth those feelings buried long ago, examine them and then put the experience behind them once and for all.

Because people are examining the war and their recollections in a new, more personal light, we are wondering if a new volume should be added to The Vietnam Experience series. Perhaps one with the editorial materials and photos contributed by all of us?

At this point, my staff and I are pondering the possibility of publishing one or two retrospective volumes on the era. Our initial thought is to assemble an album of sorts; a collection of memories, photos and letters contributed by people who were in Vietnam, and for whom an assemblage like this would have significant meaning.

Based on the many heartfelt and well-written e-mails we continue to receive daily, our idea is to assemble what we have received and combine it with our already extensive collection of Vietnam photography and editorial materials in order to produce a Vietnam Remembered volume.

What we would like to find out is: Who would have an interest in a Vietnam Remembered volume? And, are there Vietnam veterans online who would be willing to contribute information for the book, such as their own stories and photographs?

If you would like to make an editorial contribution or if you would have an interest in purchasing a copy of our Vietnam Remembered volume, please send me an e-mail. We would be very interested in your thoughts and comments. And we appreciate all the e-mails we've received thus far.

Thank you,

Since many students, veterans (and their families) and others interested in learning more about Vietnam visit this site, I thought it might be helpful to add some links to other sites that I found to be useful and interesting sources of information. If you have more to recommend, please send me an e-mail.
